Magnet select
A honeycomb of choices where the one you pick swells and shoves the rest radially aside, so the selection reads from across the room.
Where it earns its place
Small, meaningful choices on a marketing site: picking a service, a plan or a starting point, where a plain segmented control feels like bookkeeping.
What we changed
- Recast as the studio's seven services, with monograms instead of pictures and each service's own line underneath.
- Kept the field maths: a constant push along each bearing so no gap ever closes, exponential falloff driving tilt and a 22ms-per-step stagger, and anisotropic scale springs for the swell.
- Kept the whole-cluster lean toward the cursor, measured from the cluster's centre, and moved its listener from the document to the example itself.
- Added radio semantics with arrow keys around the ring and roving focus; reduced motion snaps the field into place.
- Replaced the hand-written frame loop with framer-motion springs set by damping ratio, and dropped the size and tuning knobs.
