An activity log where each new step springs in at the top and the older steps reflow down beneath it, with the current step shown as running until the next one lands.
Where it earns its place
AI features that act on a user's behalf: showing tool calls and progress as they happen, so a thirty-second agent run feels accountable instead of stalled.
What we changed
- Kept the core idea: the newest item enters at the top and layout animation pushes the stack down, so the list reflows instead of jumping.
- Replaced the scale-from-zero pop with a short drop from above on a near-critical spring; a log that bounces reads as unstable.
- Added honest state: the latest step shows as running until the next arrives, and the run ends on Awaiting review with a single champagne marker.
- Added role="log" with polite live announcements, a Replay control, and a reduced-motion version that shows the completed run at once.
- The card caps the stack at three rows and lets older rows fade out, instead of growing without limit.
