Focus lens
A launch page drawn entirely in a fragment shader that sits out of focus until the pointer pulls a lens of sharpness across it.
Where it earns its place
A WebGL service tile or a hero that rewards curiosity: the layout reads as atmosphere at a glance and resolves wherever the visitor looks.
What we changed
- Kept the original's best trick: the distance to the cursor is fed into every shape's edge width, so one number drives the depth of field.
- Inverted it into a focus pull (sharp under the lens, soft elsewhere) and made blurred lines dim as they spread, so light is conserved instead of smeared.
- Swapped the four abstract variants and the rainbow gradient for a champagne wireframe of a launch page that re-lays itself as a phone frame on narrow stages.
- Dropped jotai, next-themes and the colour inversion; added arrow key steering, an idle path when nobody is steering, DPR capped at 1.5 and a static focused frame under reduced motion.
